voodoo.woman
Got the mask and purse from the $ store and wore the tee I bought in New Orleans a decade ago. It is from Marie Laveaux's House of Voodoo, a fascinating store and museum. I pinned a voodoo doll purchased there to the purse.

Darfur Demonstration10.15
In town passing out postcards and urging
people to sign the petition online or one of
the ones we had on site.
People in suits were generally angry and
wouldn't even look a postcard. Those
coming out for lunch, walking the streets,
getting of buses or waiting at the lunch
lunch trucks were much more interested.
Many signed the petitions.

Oh Stormy!
(I <3 that song!!)
Awoke to a dark, rainy 60ยบ day after so many
sunny 80ยบ October days. But the sight of our
beautiful porch garden lifted my spirits
immediately. Put on "Best of Burbon Street
Blues" and knew I'd enjoy the day in spite
of having to stay inside.

China Please
The torch has traveled from Chad to Rwanda and will continue
to places associated with genocide--Armenia,
Bosnia, Germny and Cambodia--in the coming
months linking atrocities in these countries to
the current genocide in Darfur.
Painman
He said he wore the rubberbands to symbolize
the pain felt by the people in Darfur. He had
red tears painted on his face.
me again
The heat was so oppressive that I left before
the torch relay. Imagine how hot it is in the
camps where the refugees are!
