Sis is headed back to Baltimore. We decided to eat @ Bob's Diner before taking her to the train station.

The wind was VERY high and there were snow flurries for about 30 minutes. Then the sun came out and the snow went away.
The gang had planned to go to AC but decided instead to stay in town and go to the Mummers Parade tomorrow . I've got to meet some people my age who are more adventurous.

@ Spoons Coffeeshop
I have worn my Dallas Sucks tee every day since we trounced the Cowboys 44-6 on Sunday :) Wash it every night then put it back on the next day.
Bought it from a vendor on Broad Street about 15 years ago. Only wear it two times a year so it has held up well.

spoons@spoons
Nephew Mike here visiting from Baltimore since 12/25. He carried the three heavy cans of coins I'd been saving to the TD bank. The total was $133.14! Donated $20 to the fund for the Liberian family killed in the recent fire.
We went to Spoons Coffeehouse to chat.
sis&map
Sis saw Mike's car because she was @ the laundromat a few doors down. She has always been fascinated by this 1600s map and wants one but only if it's this size.

unwrapped tree
12/26Finally the weather has been fair enough to release the tree. We're looking at 50/60º days this weekend. I love to sit and watch the lights!!
wrappedtree
12/24Waiting on the balcony to be opened after a year of living under my bed. But high winds, snowy and icy days have prevented me from putting it up.

Seal of Philadelphia
above the door
The inscription says "Philadelphia Maneto" which means "Let brother love endure".
(We say brotherly love & sisterly affection.)
Dr. Lillian Gaskins-Green
of Temple University
a childhood friend I hadn't seen in 20 years
We'll lunch when Sis comes up from Baltimore.

Christmas Village
In town to go to the farmers' market, I stopped by our first-ever Christmas Village located in Dilworth Plaza at City Hall.
childrenwaitingmacys
Just a handful of people waiting for the light show @ 11:45. 15 minutes later, there were *hundreds* waiting on many levels and in many locations.
readingterminal@lunchtime
Completed my sojourn @ the Reading Terminal Farmers' Market. Stood in line @ Johnny Yi's fish stall for a loooong time because everyone was buying seven fishes for Christmas Eve dining.

icytree
Awakened by noise of a machine and of shovels scraping away ice from last night's storm. As I didn't come home from the Clubhouse until 3:30 a.m., I was in no mood to listen to the constant noise. Somehow, I fell asleep again.
Doing Sunday things: reading local paper and the NYTimes and watching our E-A-G-L-E-S. They lost :(
squirrelintree
Our fave squirrel continues to be so busy! Looks like he's gained even more weight. I love seeing him scurring around all day.

Trying
really trying to get into the spirit of the season, but every year the hype starts earlier and earlier. And because of the disasterous economic turndown, the sale hysteria is sooo high. Luckily the family gives $$ to charities that help people in need in the name of my departed sister so we don't have to go down the shopping path. (only children under 16 get gifts.)
Did get out today and got a wreath for the front door. Tired of all laughing @ my Halloween door decoration.
