Nephew Mike's going back to Baltimore today. We were having coffee and convo in Spoons after I had my manicure. It's been great having him here for 5 days. He's into politics, sports and music---things we all love.
(I had bought him a scratch off hoping he'd win $500 a week for life. He won $1.)

gave the book and truck away. Dunno if I'll wear the hat. They're calling the Phillies Fightins now from their forever name The Fighting Phils. It's a marketing technique to sell new merchandise. I think the name's corny. The sportscasters on radio & TV say Fightins all the time. Corny.

seniorpool
Went out (finally) yesterday. @ gym working out with trainer. Sis picked me up after the session and we took Mom to nail parlor. We did our errands while she got her manicure. Then we ate @ Applebee's (eh!).
On the pool deck @ the Clubhouse talking with Lisa & Clint and drinking ice water. It's too hot for a lager. The dozen or so people who sit back near the wall are from the neighborhood outside of our complex. Their pool closed a few years ago and they were allowed to get membership to our pool. They sit back @ their tables in the shade, play cards and Bingo and complain about the world through their conservative "christian" lens.
Went inside later and had some lagers in the airconditioned (ah) bar and joked with everyone til I walked home @ 8. It was still murderously hot walking uphill, but it was so great to have been out!!

Sock it to 'em Barry!
90plusandhumid, Day 6. Haven't been out in 3 days but will walk to gym later and test myself. Orange Alert says oldsters like me should stay indoors. I even ordered groceries online Saturday and had them delivered. But I can't stand being inside another minute. So I'll go out and test myself against the heat.

Walking by the supermarket, I saw these plants for $4.99 so I had to buy them of course. Sitting on the pool deck drinking iced coffee and reading The Philadelphia Tribune, our city's AfricanAmerican newspaper.

Wanna steak?
Who'd buy a steak from a $ store? I went inside and looked at them. Frozen hard---for how long I don't know because there was no sell by date on them. And they were really brown, like they get when they're very old and have been left out. But there weren't many left so someone must be buying them.
Dora'sunflowers
Lying low reading the few parts of the paper that were delivered. I get up too late to contact a human on Sunday so I had to leave a calm-sounding angry message and to send messages to Customer (don't) Care at both Inquirer & NYTimes. Not having the comics to read on a Sunday is inexcusible!!

Hadn't been to Plymouth Meeting Mall in *months* because of all the construction going
on there. When I go off of the bus on Wednesday and saw all the new restaurants, I was
*dumbfounded!! Can't wait to eat in all of them.
