The Philadelphia Flower Show '08
This year's theme, Jazz It Up, in honor of New Orleans.
It celebrated the gardens and music of the Crescent City.
KB on ATH
The day began with the sighting of a cardinal on the birdfeeder as I left home. Went to the Philadelphia Flower Show (pictures tomorrow). Came home and rested while watching Around the Horn on ESPN. Kevin Blackistone is one of my fave commentators along with Bill Plashki & Bob Ryan. Woody Page is a hoot!
Brett Favre announced his retirement. He was one of the very best!

@thecarwash
With temperatures soaring into the 60s, lots of people made it to the carwash.
I went to the gym and then to the chiropractor and then walked and walked and
walked enjoying the lovely temperatire and the sun.

Here comes the sun
Every day all day the weather people on the local news obsess about the weather. They've gone mad since purchasing the Megadoppler system. *And* they're never right. They predict snow and ice coming *all* the time with accumulation predictions and forecasts of dangerous icy rush hour driving and it never happens. (Luckily) But it keeps people *crazy* and keeps ratings up.
And when I arise there is no snow or ice. Only beautiful sunshine.
People complain about the cold and I say, "Yo! It:s *winter*!!"
C'mon, people! Stop and enjoy the sunshine.

Italianight
Bone and muscle tired but with a full and happy stomach. Did chiropractic and then trained with Patrick in the gym.
As we worked, I could smell such *wonderful* aromas coming from upstairs. Too tired to hang, I got my all-u-can-eat $5 Italian meal to go and struggled uphill to home feeling my 68 years which is unusual for me.
But I was revived by veal, sweet and hot sausages, broccoli rabe.zuccinitomato mixture and *Tiramisu*. Ahhhhhtalian!

Debbie.does.hair
Went with Mom to foot doc and then walked around corner to hair salon. It was quite an effort for her, the walk, and she was tired but proud. Then Debbie worked her magic.....
after.hair.napping
Sis reading the news, Mom napping while waiting for me. Then we went to Panera for broccoli cheese soup and fantastic sandwiches.
sushi.night
Met Teresa at clubhouse for delicious sushi and discussion of this year's Relay for Life. She's the event chair and the captain of our team. We were hoping to meet with Pat to get him and Life Unchained onboard, but the timing wasn't right. But we did have sushi!

sofaaaaa
We hung Uhuru Furniture's info on every doorknob and this person put their sofa in the *dumpster*!! I called Uhuru immediately hoping they'd get the sofa before the trash truck made an appearance. The sofa was gone when I looked on my walk home from the gym. Hope Uhuru won the race.
feed.the.birdies
I tell them all the time to go up near Mickey D's and they'll get more and better pickins. But who listens to me??

State of the Black Union 2008
Still grumpy about the NYC trip falling through so I set out for a 30 minute walk. Stopped @ Saladworks on the way home and go a Ujima Special:)
So pleased to discover Tavis Smiley's State of the Black Union 2008 on C-Span. 3-1/2 hours of listening to these wonderful, wise, passionate people filled me with joy and made me determined to volunteer to help get people registered to vote.

Frida.ticket
The exhibition of paintings and more than 100 b+w photos was soul-stirring.
(I once had visited her blue house/museum in Mexico City.)
