Most of the bags only cost $.99, but the jazzy bag was much more expensive; but I bought it cause it's so jazzy.
It's what Philadelphians have been saying/doing for decades. Met an old colleague,Zee,@ Wanamaker's (now Macy's :b---) for an earlty lunch in the balcony café on the third floor overlooking the organ court.
The bronze Eagle, which has been here since the early 1900s, weighs 2500 pounds and has 5000 feathers,
Conversations was difficult for some parts of our lunch (tea sandwiches of course as we had eaten in the Crystal Tearoom for decades) because the organ concert began at noon. This is the largest *operational* pipe organ in the world. I think it's been here since 1904.
with three rows of magnets
Wearing it around the house today because my back still hurts from standing so long at the polls on Tuesday.
Going to the gym @5 to work out with Patrick. That'll help a lot. Looking forward to the stretching.
new & comfy
They make it even more of a pleasure to sit outside and read, or just to sit and think while watching the birds and squirrels.
Wednesday
Plants a-bloom @ the Clubhouse (coughcoughsneeze)
But they're so lovely!
Walking and itching. Scratching. Eyes watering.
Only lasted 20 minutes before I turned for home.
But it *is* a lovely day.
Pam here doing PT with Mom when I got up. When I came home from the gym later, this postcard was part of today's mail. I had to laugh because I had worn my "Voting is For Old Folks" tee when I went to the club to watch the Hopkins fight on Saturday and got a lot of flak from all ages. Lighten up people!!
I'm *thrilled* by the involvement of young people in this too long primary season. Thrilled that they are registering, volunteering, actually voting.
@ the Clubhouse last night helping to cheer the Flyers on. They won 6-3.
I'm not a big fan but have jumped on the bandwagon. Dug in the closer and found this
shirt from '97 when they were blanked in the finals.
Today we took Mom on a long ride through the suburbs then went to Tar-jay
to get some summer things. We finished off with an *outstanding* lunch @ Alexander's
in Abington. My steamed shrimp dumplings with soy and duck sauces were *supreme*!!
Bright sunshiny day. Worked out with Sur @ the gym. Really needed all that stretching after being on my feet for so many hours yesterday.
So many beautiful flowers blooming from when the green men were here on Friday, but I forgot to take my camera with me when I went to the gym.
I'll take pix tomorrow.
Since the sky was getting dark and rain had been forecast, I decided to leave the Darfur Rally and catch the bus for home.
I'll have to read more about them to see what their deal is. I do know they're protesting against Scientology.
Saturday
75º day and we were determined to get Mom out of the house. She *loves* Obama so was excited to go to Mt. Airy to see the exhibit. I bought her a poster. She bought Sis a t-shirt.
The guys from the green service are preparing the grounds.
Pam the PT came and worked with Mom. She was pleased at Mom getting
out and getting around much more since she's been working with her.
Pam just returned from a short visit with her Mom in Florida. She said she
had run into a tornado while down there.
@ the Clubhouse on Tuesday evening, we played bowling. I'm even worse than Obama when it comes to scoring!
People complaining because it's damp and the sun's not shining. They should
look around and see the beauty coming.
Working out at the gym and then home to rest up . Going out to watch the
game tonight.
The fridge stopped working so we had to get a new one on Friday. The most difficult part of the cleanout was taking down the magnets from places I've traveled, art shows seen, pictures with Santa, family pictures.
Saturday
Our team in the Relay for Life, Coyle's Café, had a carwash from 10-2pm and raised $300. We also sold these items made by Steph.
I didn't get there til almost 2 because of doing things for Mom. Coll & the Coyle grandkids were still hard at work. (You can see Coll in the distance.)
