At African American Museum:Book launch of "Snatch" by Charles Fuller, Pulitzer winner, Oscar nominee, old friend from childhood. Fabulous finger food, media photographers, well-know people: reknown poet Sonia Sanchez, NAACP president and publisher of the "Philadelphia Sun" Jerome Mondesire, another old friend from childhood actor Davis Smyrl who played Mr. Handford on Sesame Street among his TV and movie credits.
The book is for children. It tells the story of two African-American boys in New York City in 1838 who tangle with slave catchers. Kirkus Discoveries says it's "an edgy and atmospheric kids tale."
