Meet Me At The Eagle
It's what Philadelphians have been saying/doing for decades. Met an old colleague,Zee,@ Wanamaker's (now Macy's :b---) for an earlty lunch in the balcony café on the third floor overlooking the organ court.
The bronze Eagle, which has been here since the early 1900s, weighs 2500 pounds and has 5000 feathers,
The Grand Organ
Conversations was difficult for some parts of our lunch (tea sandwiches of course as we had eaten in the Crystal Tearoom for decades) because the organ concert began at noon. This is the largest *operational* pipe organ in the world. I think it's been here since 1904.

backbelt
with three rows of magnets
Wearing it around the house today because my back still hurts from standing so long at the polls on Tuesday.
Going to the gym @5 to work out with Patrick. That'll help a lot. Looking forward to the stretching.
porch pads
new & comfy
They make it even more of a pleasure to sit outside and read, or just to sit and think while watching the birds and squirrels.
Blooming plants of Spring
Wednesday
Plants a-bloom @ the Clubhouse (coughcoughsneeze)
But they're so lovely!
Walking and itching. Scratching. Eyes watering.
Only lasted 20 minutes before I turned for home.
But it *is* a lovely day.

Vote retirees:)
Pam here doing PT with Mom when I got up. When I came home from the gym later, this postcard was part of today's mail. I had to laugh because I had worn my "Voting is For Old Folks" tee when I went to the club to watch the Hopkins fight on Saturday and got a lot of flak from all ages. Lighten up people!!
I'm *thrilled* by the involvement of young people in this too long primary season. Thrilled that they are registering, volunteering, actually voting.

flyer
@ the Clubhouse last night helping to cheer the Flyers on. They won 6-3.
I'm not a big fan but have jumped on the bandwagon. Dug in the closer and found this
shirt from '97 when they were blanked in the finals.
Today we took Mom on a long ride through the suburbs then went to Tar-jay
to get some summer things. We finished off with an *outstanding* lunch @ Alexander's
in Abington. My steamed shrimp dumplings with soy and duck sauces were *supreme*!!

Monday
Bright sunshiny day. Worked out with Sur @ the gym. Really needed all that stretching after being on my feet for so many hours yesterday.
So many beautiful flowers blooming from when the green men were here on Friday, but I forgot to take my camera with me when I went to the gym.
I'll take pix tomorrow.
Operation Clambake
I'll have to read more about them to see what their deal is. I do know they're protesting against Scientology.

Saturday
75º day and we were determined to get Mom out of the house. She *loves* Obama so was excited to go to Mt. Airy to see the exhibit. I bought her a poster. She bought Sis a t-shirt.

planters
The guys from the green service are preparing the grounds.
Pam the PT came and worked with Mom. She was pleased at Mom getting
out and getting around much more since she's been working with her.
Pam just returned from a short visit with her Mom in Florida. She said she
had run into a tornado while down there.

@ the Clubhouse on Tuesday evening, we played bowling. I'm even worse than Obama when it comes to scoring!

springtree
People complaining because it's damp and the sun's not shining. They should
look around and see the beauty coming.
Working out at the gym and then home to rest up . Going out to watch the
game tonight.

Horrors!
The fridge stopped working so we had to get a new one on Friday. The most difficult part of the cleanout was taking down the magnets from places I've traveled, art shows seen, pictures with Santa, family pictures.
carwashkids
I didn't get there til almost 2 because of doing things for Mom. Coll & the Coyle grandkids were still hard at work. (You can see Coll in the distance.)
coll&kidswash
After the carwash, we ate lunch in the cafe (with many beers) and made more plans for raising $$.

Spring has sprung
Tracy here cleaning so I had to get up so she could change my bed. The upside was that she drove me to Liberty Tax Prep office so I could get my taxes done. Forgot to take me camera! I'll have to get a picture of Dancing Lady Liberty another day.
Walked down to Exhale where Mom & Sis had just finished getting their hair styled. They walked to Coyle's Cafe for lunch while I had my mop washed and styled. It's a joy to see Mom out walking even for just a short block. The exercises Pam the PT is giving her are working!!
Met up with them and we did more errands. Came home and read newspapers.
Going out to club for Fried Chicken Night as soon as Jeopardy! is over.

Wednesday
Running around: dentist, chiropractor, drugstore, mailing store, supermarket, Argento's for a salad and a rest, Kohl's for a new kitchen rug.
Picture-taking @ the club. Everyone has to get a new ID. Say cheese and get a free beer.Stayed for two hours and talked to folks and played team Quiz Wiz partnered with Daniel.
Sunshine, missions accomplished and fun.

from one locker room 2 another
n Argento's after errands listening to Sis talk. Gave her some fundraising suggestions for Hope Afloat, the dragon boat team she's on with other breast cancer survivors.
Working out in the gym w Sue. Seems we both stayed in the same tower in the hotel in AC. We marveled at the wonderful room and furnishings, esp the mirror TV. Still can't suss how it works.
She had a great time at the Phillies' opener yesterday even though they lost.
Sent Mike the picture from the '73 Phillies game. He clearly remembered it and that we had gone home during the rain delay and that the sun came out before we reached home. Oops!
Phillies '73
3/31
Opening Day for the Phillies. Sue went to the game so my training was postponed until tomorrow. It was raining lightly. Mom was doing a workout on the stairs with Pam. I settled down and *finally* went through my papers and organized the figures so Liberty can do my tax return.
In '73 we took Mike to the game. Sis & Kate & Uncle Earl. It was raining that day too.Mike's 41 now and an Orioles fan but still pulls for the Fightin' Phils.
