February 24 Exhibit

February 24 Exhibit, originally uploaded by ujima.

1809 Haitians migrate to New Orleans following the Haitian
Revolution against French colonists.
1811 Rev. Daniel Payne is born a free Black in Charleston,
South Carolina.
1922 The home of Frederick Douglass is made a National
Shrine. The museum opens in Anacostia, VA through the
efforts of Mary B. Talbert.

You entered the Black History Showcase at the PA Convention
Center through the Underground RailRoad Tunnel. The exhibits
were varied and educational. It was a thrill to meet the Tuskeegee
Airmen, Buffalo Soldiers and Negro League baseball players.

Remained in town after helping my people at the events. (I've
got people:) We ate at Miss Tootsie's again. More tomorrow.
